Sustainability

The heart of the project is the CO₂-neutral heating and cooling system based on geothermal energy and solar power. Nine deep boreholes (150 m each) supply the building with geothermal heat, while a 9 kWp photovoltaic system generates electricity. The system saves approximately 24 tonnes of CO₂ per year and feeds surplus energy back into the grid. The result: significant CO₂ reduction and lower long-term energy costs for residents.

The building in Vienna's 17th district sits practically directly on top of the future U5 station Hernals. Tram line 43 is just a few minutes' walk away and reaches Schottentor in the city centre in about 15 minutes. The S-Bahn station Hernals (S45) and the U6 Alser Straße are also quickly accessible. High recreational value is guaranteed by the immediate proximity to Kongresspark with its generous green spaces and playgrounds, as well as the Wienerwald. In summer the Kongressbad outdoor pool provides cooling refreshment.
