Photovoltaic systems on all flat roofs generate a significant amount of the energy needed to run the cooling units of the entire building. Excess energy is used for general areas such as lifts or lighting or returned to the power supply. The waste heat from the cooling is in turn used to heat water and the energy demand is thus significantly reduced. In addition, the city is not burdened by the waste heat, and the environment is not subject to increased temperatures. This results in lower operating costs for the residents.
