About the project
Eight houses, two addresses, one signature
In Stammersdorf, the wine village in Vienna's north-east, THE EIGHT is being built: a small, carefully planned new-build project of eight semi-detached and terraced houses at Dr. Skala-Straße 56 and Julius-Schlegel-Gasse 19.
Every house carries the same architectural signature: a steep gable roof with dark shingle cladding above a light, rendered base. Photovoltaics and an air-source heat pump are integrated from the start, for low running costs.
The houses, with living areas of approx. 77 to 135 m², are spread over the ground floor and one or two attic floors, complemented by private gardens, terraces and balconies. Some units also have a loft space – ideal for storage.
Open-plan kitchen-living rooms and large windows facing the garden meet continuous underfloor heating and a tempering (cooling) function via the heat pump – for year-round comfort.
Sustainability & technology
Every house gets its own PV system of around 3.5 to 4 kWp, oriented west so that the yield shifts towards midday and evening hours when power is actually used at home. An energy-efficient air-source heat pump feeds the underfloor heating – heating in winter, gentle tempering in summer. A high-voltage power connection is installed at the parking spaces for charging e-cars or e-bikes.
Location
THE EIGHT is located in the wine village of Stammersdorf at the southern foothills of the Bisamberg, near the vineyards and the Stammersdorf Kellergasse with its Heurigen. Houses 1–4 are on Dr.-Skala-Straße, houses 5–8 on Julius-Schlegel-Gasse. Each house has a private garden with terrace and a parking space within the complex.
